A note from us.
Welcome! We’re Alyse and Brooke — moms, homeschoolers, and the co-founders of Kindred Minds Collective. Between the two of us, we have six children ranging in ages from 3 to 8, and we’ve spent years immersed in the homeschool world — classes, co-ops, and communities of all kinds. We’ve had wonderful experiences along the way, but we kept finding ourselves wishing for something more: a place that paired strong academics with genuine community, and gave kids the chance to learn alongside a wider group of peers.
We each bring a different background to this work. Brooke as an elementary and middle school math teacher, with a deep passion for growth mindset and helping children build confidence as learners. Alyse worked as a middle and high school counselor, where her favorite moments were watching students discover a new passion or realize a strength they didn’t know they had. Different roles, but the same core belief — that kids thrive when they’re challenged, supported, and genuinely excited about learning.
We also come to homeschooling from different day-to-day realities. Brooke balances working nearly full-time alongside homeschooling; Alyse is a stay-at-home parent. That range is intentional. We want Kindred Minds to be a place that works for all kinds of homeschooling families — including those navigating the very real challenge of doing it all with two working parents.
It all started simply: a small history club we launched for our own kids. But it didn’t take long to see how much those shared learning experiences meant — to the children and to us as parents. We began dreaming of something bigger: Field Days, Science Fairs, deep friendships, a true village. When we talked with other families, it became clear we weren’t alone in what we were looking for.
Kindred Minds Collective grew from that shared vision. A community where curiosity is encouraged, families support one another, and children are challenged to grow — academically, socially, and as lifelong learners.
We’re so glad you’re here.
